Taido Lantz is a Japanese-American entrepreneur, inventor, engineer, designer, and investor.

 

He has held leadership roles at prominent technology companies, such as Apple, Evernote, and Airbnb Inc. At Apple, Taido Lantz led many initiatives and teams. These included the iPod, Watch, Health+Fitness, and New Technology Engineering team. He invented the original iPhone fingerprint sensor (Touch ID), biometric security, and other technologies – having over 50 patents issued to him.

At Airbnb, Taido Lantz held a leadership role launching new business initiatives such as Airbnb Experiences, Restaurants, and others that contributed to the successful IPO of the company in 2020.

Taido Lantz is originally from Seattle and lived across Hawaii, New York, and California before settling in Tokyo in 2021. In 2022, he’s splitting time between Tokyo, Honolulu, and is hometown Seattle. Go Seahawks.

Taido Lantz enjoys appreciating and collecting contemporary art, shopping, traveling, cooking, and exercising in his free time. Most importantly, he enjoys spending time with his ten-year-old daughter
